here's a weird one. a couple of days ago i started hearing static coming from below the dash on the driver's side of the cabin. not related to running volume control. in fact, in trying to narow down problem, i turned the radio OFF and it *still* does it. this is a new behavior, just appeared out of nowhere a couple of days ago. the sound is random, and resembles someone turning an analog volume pot (one that's very dirty) up and down. and it's not continuous: i hear it for a few secs, then it goes away for a few mins, then comes back. btw, it's an aftermarket cd/radio head unit, no separate amp. has been working fine since i got the car a couple of months ago.
i did a search and was unable to come up with any prev discussion about this, so am posting a new topic.
has anyone experienced this? any ideas on where i should start looking? bad ground?
