lube my lock

My drivers side lock is getting a bit hard to insert the key and when turning the barrel it is noticeably stiffer than the passenger's side lock. I am wondering what to use to lubricate the lock and how to administer the lubricant.

Had the same problem. I just sprayed a little wd40 on the key and massaged it in there reall good and wiped off the excess on a rag. Good as new now.

right, i used powdered graphite in the door and ignition, never knew how smooth it was supposed to be.

sweet as, thats what i figured graf was the best but i think i read something ages ago about lithium grease, so i figured i'd double check.

I think lithium grease is for plastics/teflon/nylon - stick to graphite

moly powder or tungsten disulfide powder would be best, if you can get your hands on some.

You can get lock lube from a parts store. it comes in a little "tube" and is under a small amount of pressure. just put the tip in the lock and push, it will inject the graphite into the cylinder, then just work the lock and clean the key.

yes, do not use oil of any kind, use only a dry lube
