I am looking at the cross spoke e32/e38 16" 7 series wheels for my e34. I know they are supposed to work okay on my e34, but wondered if anyone had put a set on theirs and what, if any, type of spacer was needed and who sells the spacers. the wheels have 235/60 tires. will the tires rub? they have good tread left and wanted to wait a while before putting a set of 225/55 on. input? suggestions? thanks in advance.

The wheels should fit without spacers. from my humble knowledge both the 7s that you mention and our chariots require wheels with 20mm offset.

No spacers, just make sure to get the right width of tire. The 235/60s are too large, will likely rub on the strut housing and throw off your speedo. I went with Kuhmo 712s, they're the cheapest high quality tire that are proven to fit the e34 with these rims (225/55).

Yes, tires should fit in the 225/55. The 235s will rub. Slight rubbing issues are caused by 2 factors: 1) actual tire width 2) rotor hat thickness. You can check the technical widths on tirerack's site. The rotor hat thickness varies betwen manufacturers and with size. So, brembo may have different hat thickness than Balo. And stock 302mm to an e31 324mm with the same manufacturer.
