What are these? They look like a cross between t stars and M contours. I've got a 1996 wheel catalogue but can't find them. Any ideas?

If i buy them I'll pop in and say 'Hi' when I pick them up. Do you think they're genuine?

its a bit unusual that they don't have centre caps and they are 16"
mine are 17"
225 50?
by my calcs the rolling diameter about 518.9
whereas mine are 537.55
so that raises some big questions as i believe the M5 T-stars were 235R17/45's like mine

Yeah definately not t stars. The centres come out too far from the hub to be t stars. They look like a modified version of m contours. I just wonder whether they are genuine or not. I've sent the guy an email asking him. I'm just about to get onto realoem and see if I can see them.

Believe turbine style 9 wheels from a 850. Per realoem they are directional wheels and rather expensive at least $600 or so each. Think they used 235/50/16 tires.

They're fake 'T' Stars.
They are a cast single piece wheel without the removable cover.
Genuine factory forged 'T' Stars ('M' System 2's) are mirrored pairs.
These aren't.

Save your $$$'s ;)

Not sure you are correct. The turbine style 9 wheel is a one piece and had a hub cap that covers the lug nut area. Take a look at an 850i with these wheels and you will see.
Even so, these wheels might be fake T-stars as I cannot tell from the e-bay photo if these wheels accept the hub cap. They also look directional from the photo.

i would love some of these wheels, they are not directional from what i can see - suck. But the thing is, where do you get fakes from and more importantly, if you crash are you covered!!???

M5 came with 17s

i mean if you have second class wheels - immitation or fakes or whatever, are you covered with insurance in an accident. i have very expensive fully comp and costs me $750. I would love so much to rid my basket weeves but if i loose my cover in a crash then its not worth it.

just declare it to them, and if they want to jack your premium up tell them to get ****ed.... seriously there is no grounds at all for them to do it.
however if you have wheels bigger than 1 inch larger in diameter than the biggest wheel that was available on the car in some states they are illegal. but even then, you'll still be okay.

These are Style 9 wheels (http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/90.htm) which have seven spokes.
These ebay wheels (http://i8.ebayimg.com/02/i/07/98/e7/3e_1.JPG) have five spokes.

I've seen a few E34's with these 'T' Star copies around the place.
When you get up close they're not actually a very good copy at all.

As far as being directional well they are... but all in the same direction, not mirrored pairs.
I've tended to take more notice since I bought a set of genuine 'T' Stars last year. :)

Pundit hit it on the head - they have no left and right so one side is always backwards

Thanks for your help again guys. Like I said in my first thread they look like a cross between t stars and the raised centre section of the m contours. I just want to know whether they are genuine BMW or not. I can't find them anywhere. I've been through realoem, numerous BMW wheel catalogues and even google. No find. The guy says they came off an E34 but being 'unmarked' I would say aftermarket. I reckon they look good but I don't want anything fake on my car. To me that's like putting Hyundai mudflaps on the old girl.

Wingman - they're replica T-stars. A user Wyn here used to have them on his car... they are FAKE.

lol i suppose i could act as somebody's agent, but for me i already have T-stars and they would look like a piece of the proverbial on the e28.
however if someone wanted to trade basketweaves 15" stock e34 wheels they would go well on my e28 ;)

On our roads ?

What's wrong with bottletops anyway ? :D

Who wants the grief of having to repair wheels and replace tyres damaged by pot-holes ?

Spend the money on a set of Michelin Pilot HX MXMs instead ! ;) You won't regret it !

They are 100% fakies.

I've had them for the four years since I bought my car, and I have to say, they do look very nice on the car, makes it look much more modern than the 15" basketweaves and such.

I've only seen these wheels sold in Australia.

They are fake throwing stars. They sell them in the U.S, a guy at the Chicago meet had them on a red e34.
