AC lighting in evening e34

My AC/heating knobs don't light up in the night. It kind of wavers in / out. Sometimes they light up, other times it goes out. Any ideas what to look at?

mine do the same exact thing also...there is a short somewhere, im just too lazy to figure out whats goin on...
