Hi, As far as i can tell my gearbox is sealed - there are no manuals. If this is so, am i completely stuffed?. I have a pin-prick leak squirting from a pipe near the small front radiator behind the grill. I guess a stone hit it although it is pretty rusty. I reckon i could fix the leak, but in the meantime the oil level has dropped in the tranny and the tell-tale light is coming on. Other symptoms are it is as if the box is slipping into gear cos at junctions i have to rev it up to get it going.
I have tried to find a dip stick and / or a top-up filler point but can not find either. Are there any pics/manuals of this gear box? Where is the filler plug?
Thanks for any help

PS its a 1995 525 TDS (M51 engine I think??)

Paddy, you'll probably get a lot more help here if you peek under your car and track down the label that identifies the car's transmission model number. BMW sells no diesels in the states, but they sell a lot of automatics.

Look just above the fluid pan on the right side of the transmission for the label.

OK Thanks - don't suppose anyone knows of any european forums - didn't know there were no diesels in the States!
