I know this is a common topic, but after searching I still couldn't find the specs for a magnaflow muffler on our cars. I'm trying to find the Inlet/Outlet size ( I'm guessing 2.5" ) and the length of the muffler. If anyone has specs or an exact magnaflow part number, that'd be perfect! This is going on the 95 530i.

Thanks Guys!

Nothing for me? Anyone? How about stock muffler dimensions?

Jasen it'd be best to go measure your muffler box on the street. I am 99% sure that an aftermarket universal like magnaflow will be smaller, but still.

I was out there for a lil today just without a tape measure :(. I found a pretty good supplier, should be able to pick up a new one for $120-160 instead of $240-290! :-D

So, come next week, if anyone is in need of a replacement 530i muffler! :-D

Nice - youre going to need a shop that can make it look decent. Also, the mufflers sometimes do not have "tips". You need to get tips to be welded on. Magnaflow also sells those.

Yea, those are a bit up there... $40 each... Trying to determine the worth of the engraged "Magnaflow" on the tips....

My friends have used them before, the tips are double rolled and nice... I'd consider it.

Ive got a stainless Magnaflow 2.5 in and two 3 inch exits, looks really nice. The canister itself is much smaller than the factory tank, most aftermarkets will be. The muffler shop had to make a "Y" pipe to convert the factory double pipes into the single 2.5 inch in pipe in the muffler. Had to fabricate new mounts etc. Looks areally sharp tho and sounds great. Labor was abou 90 bucks to do it all.

Thats not too bad at all $90 is great! Is there a reason why you didn't go with the dual in dual out? Instead of having the Y pipe convert?

Better yet, I'll share the entire site! :-D I'm still trying to figure out which model will work best for our cars.

Ben,

What were the dimensions of your muffler? Overall Length, width, etc...
