Someone asked me a while back for pics on this setup, and I just got a decent digital camera so I thought I'd post.

Pic #1: PO installed three gauges in the car (from left to right): Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Oil Temperature.

Pic #2: Backside of cluster, sheet metal wrapped in vinyl, with lights for the gauges.

Pic #3: Oil temp sensor is part of the oil pan drain plug. (Don't ask why it's so dirty... I'm duly ashamed...)

Pic #4: Oil pressure sensor, located aft of the head (plastic thing in the upper corner is the underside of the coolant overflow reservoir).

Pic #5: Water temp sensor sits in the (formerly) blank hole by in the thermostat housing.

Thanks to the PO... interesting to see how much longer it takes the oil to heat up than the water, and it's nice to see the oil pressure whenever there's a strange noise, etc.

A very good point about the oil temp/water temp difference, we really shouldn't be pushing our engines alot before that oil temp is up. Many times when we see the water temp at "normal" we assume that the engine is ready to go hard. Not so, I usually wait 2-3 times the time the water temp reaches normal before really pushing the car.
