535i 5spd in particular. what would one run in the 1/4 if i were to add the 4.27 rear diff, engine chip, dinan intake manifold, a full exhaust, and a CAI??

Is a 50shot of N20 safe on their engines for long term ownage?

Unfortunately im in Ca so i cant look into the possibility of a turbo/supercharger :(

also this is a little offtopic to the thread, but has anyone had a local shop rebuild their motor? I figure that any E34 ill find will have 150k+ on the clock and need a rebuild.

to bad you cant turbo, cali emissions are retarted. 535im is a fun ca, thats what i have, with those mods it will be fun to drive but i cant imagin to staggering 1/4 times, maybe 14s. and i have 170k on the clock on my m30 and it runs like a top!

boy dont get me going on Cali emissions. just about every air intake is illegal for my DD truck except the one with the worst quality and fitment.(my MAF barely fits in the intake tube)

The other option is to pickup an E36, but my issue there is that it will be kinda pricey for a 325 and it will have high miles and in need of a rebuild before being built up.

like it's been pushed over a cliff.....going straight down.....the toilet.

Yeah right, 14's maybe pushed over a cliff going straight down.

15's would be more realistic i guess, but high 14's i dont think is too crazy

I thought supercharger install is easy enough to remove it for smog check every 2 years. dollar per dollar supercharger will be best bang for the buck..

a 95 540i six speed would be a great starting point for a fast e34.

LOL. I did that.. budget the "go fast" funds to buy a 540i M-sport now selling my 525i

without a good gutting and more power.

better off sell it before you kill it and get a 69 camero with a 427, tunnel rams, dual double pumper quads and a close gear five speed on 456 posi rear.

and turn a few 10s

I like my cars to be fast and corner. a 10second camaro wont corner too well.

a e30 with a m30 is what you want then,as has been stated the e34 is a pretty chunky drag car. These motors are just run in at 150k,as long as they have been maintaimed

I agree. Unless of course you go the route of the VSmotor 5 :)

I run in the low 14's with my 92 525i, I have some internal engine mods done to help with the nitrous mind you but a 3600lb. 2.5 litre in the low 14's is pretty good. With the setup you are talking about you should be low 15's and as for the nitrous thing they don't like it very much so it will have some effect in a short time.
