Well, exactly two days after getting the new rims on the car and taking it down to the track. I hit the wall comming out of turn 17 at VIR. So now Im in the market for a passenger 1/4 panel, front bumper and possibly hood...

I had a great two days at the track... car was running fast and tight... most of the other instructors thought I was running an M5... I passed an E60 M5 on the track and a few porsches(edit for spelling nazis! :P )... Other than hitting a wall, it was awesome... time to get her fixed and back out on the track (this time with some stickier tires, my Kuhmos got really wet after a few runs).

Heres some pics...

Here is my car with my friend Beau's C32 AMG, he had about 7 or 8mph on me on the straights... and 150 more HP, but my 225hp 525 hung with him.

This is the wall I hit... the cone in the backround is the apex I missed... I thought I was oversteering and turned the wheel to correct... when I let off the throtle I spun and hit the wall on the bottom of the screen.

And here is what she looks like today :( I had to leave her down at the track and Im working to get the car towed back up here, either through a friend or pay a towing service (car is 250 miles away).

I passed a porch last night, there were a bunch of people sitting on it drinking beer. :)

Seriously, sorry to hear about your accident.

I have a decent front bumper, but no other front bits.

Let me suggest that you NOT switch to sticky tires, at least not true R-compound tires, until you have quite a few track events under your belt. You will learn ALOT more on street tires, and you will be much less likely to pick up bad habits that you can get away with at 7 or 8/10's on sticky tires. Trust me on this one- you will be a better driver in the long run if you learn how to drive smoothly and quickly on street tires.

Did this happen this weekend?? Who were you running with (what organizing group)??

Bret.

I wasnt planning on R-comps I know the bad habits they can teach you.. but right now I was on all seasons and some decent summer tires would prolly make a world of difference.

The event was hosted by MB, but BMW and Audi were also participants... This event was Thursday/Friday at VIR, Mazda had the track for the weekend, a bunch of people were doing all 4 days.

my 240hp 525 hung with him.

OT, what have you done to get 240hp in your 525?

But you have 192hp stock right? Same as me.(M50B25) You think a EAT will add 30hp? I was told it would give me around 205hp, and I even think that is much for just a chip.

My E34 is for sale with a blown trans, and I'm looking to move it. Perhaps use as a parts car?

Hmm... actually I do have a used set of front headlights and front grill. The headlights are the Umnitza angel eye ones. I'm replacing them with smoked Hellas. The driver side umnitza projectors is kinda cracked and yellowed, but the passenger side is fine I believe. The turn signals are clear corners.
