Can't get fog light lens alone pre-1/1994 production?

So my right fog lens has been cracked... which didn't bother me till I went through two $10 bulbs and finally realized that water had been sitting inside the assembly :(

The problem now is that apparently I can't buy just the fog light lens if the car has a production date before 1/1994 (mine is 9/1993). Is this because it is not possible to install a new lens only or can I install one of the Hella lenses designed for post-1/1994 cars?

Or to solve the issue simply, I could follow Ken B's recent post and ask, is there anyone out there with an extra fog light lens from pre-1/1994 production they'd like to sell for $20 + shipping?

the lens pre 94 doesnt exist because the pre 94 fogs are a sealed unit.

Yup, when I cracked a lens on our '91 I had to replace the fog light assembly.

My 1991 535i has sealed fog lamp units. There are at least two different styles of lenses associated with the assemblies. The first one I got from Vines didn't match the original so we swapped and got the correct one. I got a Chinese fog lamp lens and assembly from eBay for my wife's E38 when she was having a run of broken lenses AND assemblies. Looked original and fit perfectly at 1/3 of stock price.
