I was reading the Sydney Morning Herald this morning and saw two E34 540i for 18,990 and 16,990 (private sales). It would seem that the petrol prices are making people nervous. Oh I also saw an E34 M5 with 300+kms for little money. It might be time again for me to try and convince the missus that the 540i is the way to go...;)

Mate, just make sure it's younger than Nov '97. Our NSW PULP has never been the best!

Well, when i was researching v8s i had a chat with some technical bloke at BMW Sydney. He did confirm he had come across a few Nikasil issues and told me that Australia started getting the Alusil blocks around Nov '97

Well the BMW bloke said it, then again he's only a BMW tech, 'We" could be right and he could definitely be wrong!!

Have you guys tried to check the casting number on your v8 blocks?
