View Full Version : Is this the right Oil Level Sender/Sensor?

I've found a source for two inexpensive (new) oil level senders. I've attached the picture of them both. According to RealOEM, the correct part looks to be the one with the round plug, but I've also heard that it should be the rectangular plug.

In any case, I would be purchasing both and be willing to give the other one away for the cost of postage.

Does anyone recognize one of these as the correct model for a 1989 535i E34? The seller says that the part numbers are 1312343 and 1276183. These don't appear to be BMW part numbers.

Thanks

the 1 312 343 is for the E24 635CSi and all E34 M5, the 1 276 183 is for the E32 735i till march 1987. so it will fit into your oil pan, but i don't know if the connector will fit, too. the correct part# for your car is 1 717 394.

Thanks for the tip. Where did you find these part numbers? Are they BMW numbers, Hella numbers, someone else?

Unless anyone can confirm that the cable/connector fits, I'll pass on these sensors.
