Hey all... In full, warmed up normal mode, where is everyone's (M30) coolant temps? Dead Center, Ever so slightly above, or every so slightly below?

Just a bit left of center. My m30 has an oil cooler, if that matters. Hippieland doesn't see big ambient temperatures.

12 noon or just slightly below. Not above ever.

Enjoy!

ever so slightly right (a needle-width above) on a day above 25 degrees C (77F), but never above that. Doesn't drop below a needle to the left except during warm-up. Below 25 it likes to sit middle to half a needle left.

I think it depends on climate, but this may be because my aux fan connector is a bit dodgey. My motor is basically new, stock spec- I believe middle is where it should run unless something is wrong (It also ran in the middle prior to the rebuild, but I only get one vote... :( ). I'll update when I have new connections installed. Nick

yes Randell but the temps prolly have a lot to do with it.....it would be rare for Wellington to go over 20 and 25 would be max....its getting into winter now and i have had the 3 degree warning twice this week!

Mostly left of center after warmed up but if in stop and go traffic, does rise to a needle width right of center. NOTE: I do not have a fan shroud on this car right now. Weather is approximately 92 degrees while in that traffic.

When I owned my 535iA, the temperature was just barely a tick to the right of center.

I think your survey will show that most of the automatic transmission models will run a smidge higher than the manual brethren.

I am noticing in traffic, with high ambient temps and the air on. It creeps a bit to the right. Never been a problem or hit the red. Usually always 12:00.

Hi,

My temp gauge behaves the same but all parts are in place.

Yeah, slightly right of center also. I have a new Graf pump, clean radiator, clean fresh coolant, a new (Stant, 176F) thermostat, good fan clutch. She warms up quick now that I actually have a thermostat (last one blew up), and with the air on, idling, hot day, etc, she rises up to slightly right of center, but won't budge above it (or below it!). Oh well...
