Getting ready to tackle the air conditioning job. I have done a few "dry runs" and believe I am ready for the task.

I called Patrick at BMA per suggestions of the board and he is recomending a replacement compressor for the Denso at about $100 cheaper.

However, it needs to have PAG oil put in and he wasn't sure what viscosity the Denso or this compressor is suppose to use. I did a search and found a link to a listing for viscosity for compressors but the link didn't work. I called the BMW dealer and they said they used PAG oil from Mercedes (dual dealership) because it was much cheaper but couldn't (wouldn't?) tell me what the viscosity was.

Any help would be appreciated.

But Patrick seemed pretty sure it needed to be filled with oil?

i find that they usually don't have nearly enough oil when i drain them to check, i drain out whatever it has in it and refill with 5-6 oz of ester oil, pag is bad if you have any copper in the system, and these old systems can have some copper

The compressor will come with documentation for what oil to use.
