Hey folks,

I have an Sony CDX-F 7750 S and I would like to command it from the steering wheel. Pioneer have an IR command you can attach to the wheel:

Sony doesn't have this :( .

I looked for some kind of 'universal' type, but couldn't find anything. Maybe u guys know something?

Another option is to replace the steering wheel by a model with embedded buttons for stereo, like this:

and then connect it to the radio with this:
http://www.tune-town.com/cars/stuff/steering_wheel.htm
But is there a steering wheel like this that fits my e34?

Thanks for the input!!!

Jon K. probably has a good idea about what needs to happen, but OMG what a ton of expense and work just so that you don't have to reach, what, two feet?

Hmzz, you could be right uflnuceng...

Appendix A: Known Incompatible Vehicles

VehicleMake(s) Year(s) Model(s)
BMW All All with factory-activated cellular phonesAll with 5-volt SWC data wire at the steering column2002-

but in the manual is stated that these cars will work:
3317

Note 5:
Tracing the wire from pin 7 of radio plug (color may vary), cut the wire at the steering column. Connect the INTERFACE Yellow wire to the switch side. Insulate the radio side. Colors known: White/Red/yellow-dots or White/Gray/Yellow-dots. Wait 15 seconds after turning key to accessory position before going into radio programming.

You are right HDhandyman, it's much work, and much expense. But I think it is a much safer solution too ;) .
