Hello-

I'm trying to find a good BMW specialist/tuner in the Memphis, TN area. I have a 95' 540 that I bought a year ago that was already equip with 18" Parallel wheels and H&R springs. Recently I started having trouble with the front suspension pulling significantly from side to side when on a well traveled road with slight ruts. Also, at higher speeds I experienced a fair amount of bounce when I hit a large bump. Sounded to me like I needed to simply replace the front shocks/struts (I'm still confused which even after reading numerous threads on this subject). My mech says that whoever did the work didn't do all that was necessary to pull off this lowered sport suspension and it was "reeking havoc" on the whole front suspension, alignment, tires, etc. He suggested returning everything (springs, rims, tires, etc.) to "STOCK as that's how BMW's engineers originally designed it". I know for a fact that the guy that I bought the car from did all of the work on the car and put Boge shocks/struts? back with the new H&R springs. So....I'm not real sure that my mech is fully familiar with all of the sport suspension options, as he seems more familiar with changing out brakes for soccer mom Volvos (not that I'm knocking them as that's what my wife currently drives)....though he may not be the greatest BMW tuner/mech. I'm not real sure what to do.......please advise.

My personal opinion is not to return to stock... Although that would be the "Easy" way out. Instead of the mech trying to find what is really the problem. My guess would be struts/control arms...

I'll look more into the struts and control arms...Do you have any suggestions of what I should go with?

I'll give them a try......thanks for the contact. I've been avoiding them because they're way out east and I live closer to downtown....not really convienient, though I've heard good things about them.
