ok-dumb question here-i have the BBS wheels on a '88 325is. I have the giant-hex plastic tool to remove the wheel centers. how do u remove the wheel centers? i used the tool to rotate the centers counter-clockwise and i can feel less drag after some rotating but they are not coming off. anyone have any ideas? thanks!

I haven't had mine off but most vehicles you pop off by gently hitting it from the back side (wheel must be off) and it just pops off or if their like my chevelle it has a screw that must be taken off from the back side (wheel again must be off) so no one can steal them.
These are the only two ways I have ever seen centers come off.

Hub Cap Removal for cross spoked BBS style wheels

I have a similar tool for my E32 750 OEM wheels.
Just place the tool onto the hub caps and pull outside/off.
No need to turn, there are only springs/clips behind that.
A small screwdriver with some tape as protection on the tip does function as well.

the e30 caps have a cam on the back side that expands the fingers and locks them on fairly good, till the fingers get worn down then you need another $85 center cap when it flys away

Ok, I obviously stand corrected. These cars really are quite different from most of the auto world.
