For my 1990 535i, 5 spd, 106K miles, I use NGK like the ones here:

At $1.99 each, its a very good plug that is hard to beat!

Bosch L8 WPR is the factory plug, and the best one to use.

you should try them platinum plugs with the miles on your car, will help mileage too.

Can I borrow this thread and ask the same question for the m50 ?

My local "indy" recommended a brand called BERU. It was a german brand.
The PO had also use Beru plugs..
