about getting a new key...

I'm thinking about buying a key on ebay like this one, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2469936417&category=40016 . Are there any computer chips in the key that would prevent this one from working in my car if I had it cut to the same as my old key? I have a 93 540 btw.

Neato... but dulicate it with a unused/new key... because duping a worn key is like asking for trouble... you only got one shot to get it right.
