after doing a little looking through tirerack, and from comments of others on this board...i've come to the conclusion that my dunlop sp sport a2s won't make it to anywhere near 30k miles, which I consider unacceptable for a tire priced the way it is... for those with a2's on their e34, how long have they lasted for you?

Ryan,
I agree 110% with you on the longevity factor. I have other issues with them too. My first set had an all around excellent ride after the dealer got the 2 bad tires off the rear. Even though they have a 420 treadwear rating they barely lasted 21k miles. I thought maybe I had some worn suspension components but the alignment guy said everything was fine. The second set I put on in Jan 04 had 3 out of 4 bad tires and I'm still not 100% happy with the ride but going to live with them. Also have a set of 205/65/15 A2's on the wife's 1995 V6 Camry. I don't think they'll make 25k.
NO MORE Dunlop A2's for me!
Kinda curious what other folks are getting with other brands of tires...

as i said in another tread, regatta 2's on mumsies FWD taurus lasted about 60k mile (from 40k till under 100k), were inexpensive for 205/65/15 and were only replaced because both back tires had nails in them, and the front was out of round... if i wanted to patch the hole, i could stick two on the bimmer and still have a decent amount of tread (drift practice tires?????) reviews on tirerack also speak to longevity if one isn't going to be excessively spirited about it..ill give up some handling for longevity after seeing how quckly these things died, found out that they do make a 225 60 15, will be checking out my local contacts to see how cheaply i can get some for.

Mine lasted WELL under 20,000 miles...

im thinking maybe 10,000 - 12,000.

I replaced rears with Yoko AVS dB 2, hoping these will do me better.

I have/had 2 sets... one set on my '91 525... got about 15k on them.... probably get another 25k out of them. 2nd set on a 2000 maxima I just traded in on a Tahoe... had 24k on them and they had quite a bit of tread left of them... at least another 15k.

I know quite a few people had problems with them cupping on the sides. I have had great luck with both sets.... nice smooth, quiet ride... and they grip pretty well.

I agree, great quiet ride but didn't last 25K.
