What does this coolant hose do/go?

What does hose 11 (just to the left of the expnasion tank cap) on the attached diagram do / where does it go?

The end of the hose that joins onto the expansion tank is perished. The other end disappears into the right hand side front wheel well.

I wonder if the hose is for draining away hot coolant in the event that some coolant is released by the expansion tank cap? Or does it do something more important?

Yep, its just a drain for overflow. can be deleted if you dont mind overspill getting ontop of the engine.
