by Metric Mechanic. Car is in Silicon Valley, CA. Has all kind of goodies, most put in by Dinan, who also installed the engine. Asking $18K. So, if you're feeling rich today, it's on Autotrader.com. Also see it here:

The tranny. An engine with that level of output should be mated to an M5 tranny. If I bought it, I'd have a great fun time with it for about a month, then the tranny would break.

I don't know what figures you're quibbling over. 0-60 in 6 sec? BMW says 7.5 for the stock car. Car and driver says 7.0 for the stock car (The difference is probably that BMW does not use wheelspin for their launches.) I'm think just the chip might get the stock car down to the 6.5 second region.

On his web site he say's he's changed to a sporty exhaust,a chip and ofcourse the fairly small increase in capacity, from this he's saying he's getting 280-290 bhp.

Based on these mod's i think he's being slightly optimistic by about 10-20 bhp

a hot cam and many internal breathing enhancements by the reputable firm Metric Mechanic. I'm think the output numbers come straight from them.
