Looking for a knowledgeable, honest, and reliable transmission shop to look into a "Trans Program" warning on my 1989 535i automatic in the Puget Sound area. Money is always a consideration but am willing to pay if it gets done right the first time. Just got off the phone with a local BMW dealer and within 60 seconds he is already telling me $4500 for rebuilt tranny. Did not sound too interested in exploring anything short of that, for example, solenoids or speed sensor and such.

Kurt Koehler seems to be the person to buy rebuilt trannies from. He retails the one for mine for about $2600.00, yours is alot less.

Check with Lee Myles Transmissions in Renton, they have done several of my cars...

I made several threads/posts about my "Trans Program" with limp mode problem. Tried several "fixes" but bottom line is I changed out the Pulse Generator ($40 from stealer) in the transmission (remove pan and it is right there, very easiy job) and no more "Trans Program"!!!
