I received some calipers in the mail today. They are big and heavy (cast iron). I'm going to be rebuilding them, my question is for the "set mounting parts" (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=GC81&mospid=47354&btnr=34_0363&hg=34&fg=05). Mine didn't come with any. Are they to leave the brake pad inplace?. realoem.com says I only need one set, which I assume come with two. They are a direct fit for e34 cars. I know there are some dudes with the e31 840 setup, which has a similar setup (part number 7). (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=EF61&mospid=47328&btnr=34_0484&hg=34&fg=05)

They have the word BMW on the side of them. I bought them from this vendor in Germany. His known in the 7 series forum circles and Erich has heard of him before also. I would purchase from him again.

It was euro 250 + 80 for shipping which took about 10 days, it has some rear 540 rear calipers also The seller also speaks english that helps a lot also. I also am told they fit under 15" wheels, they accept 324x30 rotors. Pads are hard to source, I've come across textar (stock) and EBC pads. Carbonpanther might be another brand also - I have to check up on that one.

Mate that was quick!! Good stuff, now I am jealous... can't wait to see how the rebuild goes. Hmm, the set is the mounting springs- I'd say you should call your vendor again and get those sent, they will cost heaps from Bimmer I expect, realoem=$72.54, BMW Aust can't get or costs $451.03 according to my last difference calculation on bushes. But you might have to check regardless... :) Can't wait to see them! :) nick
