what is a BMW 301??

a friend of mine claims that she saw a 301...i mentioned a 325 or 330 but she insists its a 301...any clues?

There was a BMW airplane engine coded "301" used in and around 1940.

There was a mid-'50s sedan known as the BMW 501. It had 65hp and did 0-60 in 30 seconds.
