Rattle from driver's window? 1991 535iM

I have a rattle which seems to originate from the inside of the driver's side door, and which diminishes for a time after I roll the window up and down. I also hear a clunky sound when I close this door, but not the others.
Any ideas about what this might be? I hope there is an easy fix, but suspect that it may be something inside the motor itself and not a bracket or something...

Mine had the same problem minus the clunk and new sliders fixed it. You might want to take the panel off to peek around first but the sliders either way are probably worn. The rear door had problems going up and the slider was broken where the metal arm was pushing the window up...not pretty but a file, some grease and a new slider made it new.

Thanks. Are the sliders easy to replace? They don't sound too expensive...

easy to replace, the hardest part is removing the panel which is in the Bentley manual. I picked up 4 clips the other day, about 4 bux each including tax.
