E28 insterment panel not working

Everything on my 1987 E28 535is interment panel along with the windows does not work anymore. The speedometer works fine, but nothing else does. I have been told that this is because there is batteries behind the interment panel that need to be replaced. If this is true where could I get these batteries, if not what do I need to do to fix.

Windows doesn't work? Prolly need to reboot yer computer and/or install Linux.

Actually, check your fuses before you pull the panel. I suspect a fuse.

The batteries, when it is that, can be replaced with standard AA NiCads. See http://www.bmwe34.net/E28/Repairs/Dashboard.htm

I agree, check your fuses Eric as a first up. Nice and cheap to replace as well. The speedo will work as it is operated from a cable. And dude it's 'instrument' not 'interment'
