No even better, put revolving doors on it. Either way you'll really be improving the look.

How the heck would I do Z1 doors... Seems a little odd on a 4 door... Don't know never seen them on an e34... But damn I'd love to have a Z1... Ok, now I'm going to go buy a Lotto ticket... LOL

See, I like the Lambo doors because you can't tell there on the car till you open the doors... And as for buying a Lamborghini... ...Where would I put my son? At least a BMW carries a little weight and protection... I love my e34!

It's an ambitious project but you are probably on the wrong site to ask about this kind of thing. Most on this site like subtle mechanical mods (some not so subtle!), and maybe a body kit that compliments the beautiful shape and style of the E34. You may be better asking this question on a custom car type site as I predict that the only answers you'll get here are smart arse ones like my revolving door answer;) . Just remember this. The Lamborghini type door was designed into the car. They were light weight and the frame was re-inforced to take the weight of the door at that angle. The E34 door is HEAVY and you would have to re-inforce the door frame to be able to support the weight. You would also need extra heavy duty struts to hold the damn thing up once it's there. You would also have to re-route all the wiring that goes into the doors. By the time you'd done that you could probably get yourself into a used unloved Lambo like a Jalpa or similar for the same money. Good luck, let us know if you get it done and post a few picks.

I love my e34!

Then you wouldn't put Lambo doors on it.

Well, actually I've done it before on my friend Prelude... It was easy on a honda and you can buy a kit on E-Bay to do it for about a grand... The ones we did on the Honda were electric/hydraulic with 1100lbs of lift. Just curious if anyones tried to take this project on an e34...

OMG, some very funny stuff in this thread :)

To each his own, and do what you like and all that, but..

Making a modification like that sends only one message to the world: I have more money than taste, and rather than do something useful with my money I've decided to spend it on something that has no purpose other than to show other people just how much money I have.

Gross. Don't do that. Much better to keep your already-beautiful car as it is and show people you've got class. Class is important. Money only impresses people who have no other virtues.

If you have a reason for doing this besides showing off, then I'll back off and admit I just don't get it.

lambo doors are VERY usefull in cramped parking spots.

especially the dual mode ones that can open like a regular door if you want.

I don't park in spaces like that because I know my doors will be dented by some cheap **** with no lambo doors.

Here's a tip...

*SLAP* DON'T DO IT!!! Its nasty and ricey, and you'll look like a poser!!

Looks... hmmm.... ok (JUST ok) *eek... hides* on an E46 coupe, but DEFINATELY NOT on anything 4 door... Especially on an E34!!

You want to do a cool mod the the E34... Coupe it!! Just like the prototype!!

That would look great, and then us E34 purists won't have hunt you down and smash your kneescaps!! :D

lambo doors don't belong on sedans.

you'll also notice in this forum that a lot of guys like to make fun of whatever doesn't suit their taste... it's pretty lame.

What about suicide doors?
i've been thinkin about that since i've had my 34.
i think it would be too much work tho.
have to shave the door handle and move it to the front.
and i dont think it could be done becuse of the way its shaped in the back.
i guess i jus answered my own question.

suicide doors only look good on slammed cars

Suicide doors over scissor door any day!! Although not overly keen on either type on an E34...

However Incantation is right... You'd have to fit hydro suspension and 20in Dayton Wires too. And buy yourself a purple crush-velour suit, top hat and walking cane!! Ohhh, Pimp-dad-ee-luuuurrrrrve!!

If you do decide to do it... I suggest not showing up at the Chicago meet or your doors will be ripped off when your back is turned ;)
