I'm starting school in about a month (already have a bachelor's...I'm 27 and going to try and get in pharmacy school) and needed solid reliable transportation that was cheap to buy, cheap and easy to maintain, good on gas, and most importantly RELIABLE.

I love my E34, I loved working on her and making her better, but I just don't have the time needed to keep up progress or have time to deal with the hiccups along the way.

Enter the Honda FiT:

109 gut wrenching HP....105 ft/lb of neck snapping torque and still manages to average about 35 MPG.

So far I've put about 600 miles on her and I'm very happy. Drives like a much more expensive car and has lots of flexible space. Does all I need to and more. Even though there is only 109 HP under the hood, it is surprisingly fun to drive. Anyone looking for a inexpensive new ride, I highly recommend it.

I'm not expecting the FiT to be anything like the E34. It's sole purpose is to get me from point A to point B....for as little $$$$ as possible.

The 535i will officially be listed tomorrow for $5400 OBO. It is getting a full detail first thing in the morning and will be out on a busy corner all day. I'm going to give it a couple weeks and if I don't get much response, I'll pay for some advertising.

What happens when you meet a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban in that thing ?

I met a 1996 Chevy 2500 4x4 pickup in the driver door of my 98 F150 and got a trip to the hospital. The chevy took out 4 trucks when it ran through an intersection blowing a red light going about 35. But, I was belted in and mad it. The FIT could have side airbags which would help. Also a light car gets punted out of the way sometimes. Ask the Ranger owner in front of me who was pushed aside like a tinker toy.

Not sure what the revs are at 65, but at 80 they are just under 4,000. It is dead quiet up until then, after 80 you can hear the motor just a tad. Wind noise isn't much of a factor and it soaks up bumps pretty well for a 2,500 lb car.

Dealers are getting over sticker price. It took me two weeks and 6 dealers to find one that would sell AT sticker price. Sticker is $15,720 and I walked out with it for about $16,700 with tax, tags, etc.

I've only run one full tank through and I averaged almost exactly 35 MPG.
