First posting here,:) I've recently acquired what should be a good 'un, a '95 540i touring 6 speed. Lots of trimmings like the twin sunroof, central heating timer(!), electric seats.
The factory tape & radio is stated as the 'Business RDS' unit, and I've tried using the tape adapter with an ipod. Tapes sound good, a standard tape adapter with the ipod is v good. But with Griffin's SmartDeck I've got a problem that doesn't happen in my other motor, a Saab 9000. In the 540 for some reason the smartdeck only produces sound in the right channel! Left is barely audible.
Anyone else used it with this unit? Did it work? The smartdeck is known to be incompatible with certain car decks but I didn't expect mono! I tried the auto reverse button but it must have shifted the heads as it sounded garbled.
