Piranha alarm as standard?

Oz drivers,
Does anyone have an early car with a Piranha alarm? I know I've asked about this type of alarm before but I was wondering whether it was fitted as a dealer option. My car has the factory job with the LED in the dash vent which can be set with the key so apart from keyless entry I was wondering why this was fitted. I have no record of it being fitted post-purchase.

my car has a piranha alarm too, its a UK 1993 model. car built 06/93, first used 08/93. looking at operating instructions for alarm it has a small sticker attached with build date of 02/94, so must have been a dealer option rather than factory in my case.
