Hello all,

My name is Bryan and I just recently purchased a '94 540 6spd.
See the second page of this thread (http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=20067&page=2)

The archives have been extremely useful in helping address some questions I've had about the car-- thanks for that. However I'm sure it won't be too long before I have an issue that's not well covered in the archives so hopefully I'll be able to get some answers from the experts on here.

If you want to see some pictures, here you go:

Nice car but are you sure it's a '94? The 540-6 was only offered in '95.

Edit - Just read the thread you linked to.

Near Philly...Lansdowne Specifically.

I've got a question. The car I've bought had the tranny swap, but the cluster LCD is throwing a constant transmission warning, presumably because its hardwired to look for the automatic. Can I disable that warning signal so that it won't show up on the LCD anymore?

I believe the PO just removed the backlighting bulbs from the cluster that correspond to the LCD so nothing really showed up that well, but there's got to be a better way. I'd like to have the LCD, but having a big glowing Transmission fault all the time will get annoying.-- question is, how hard is it?
