Hi All,

My battery went dead after a rear-ender that left my trunk hood open (and the lights were left in).

Batttery went dead after being charged, and car driven a bit. Is it possible that letting the battery run dead fried the battery, or do I just need to charge it some more?

Letting a battery ruin dead can ruin it. This is one of the things that separates high quality batteries from low quality ones. Among other things, batteries are rated by how many times they can be taken below a certain voltage before they go bad. Delco batteries are very tolerant of this, Diehards are very intolerant of this, so price is not always an indicator of quality.
