Has everybody firmed up their plans yet? There is still time for that little road trip you've always talked about but never found a good enough excuse to warrent. Well, the excuse is here, and by the looks of it, there are currently 48 cars registered for the meet and one enthusiast that is "flying in" from sunny California....(you know who you are...;)
This is one event NOT TO MISS!!!! The event will be covered by Roundel, and is sure to go down in BMW history books as "The Biggest E34 Gathering in the World".
So register and make that little road trip to the Chicago area and meet some of the people that make this board so sweet....register here http://www.bimmer.info/~events/
See you there!

This is going to be a great event!!! With almost 6 weeks left until the meet, we already have almost 50 registered e34s. WOW. It is going to be fun meeting all the people of the board and seeing the e34s across North America gather in one location. I am getting very excited.
Whether your e34 is only driven on sunny days or is used as the grocery getter, we welcome all e34s. We even welcome those who cannot drive to the event in their e34. Remember we are celebrating the great e34 community as well as the greatest model line-up BMW has ever released. So come join us for this historic event.

Anybody know the tolls from the Airport to the place?
For those of you staying the night, there is a Fairfield in at 645 West North Ave Lombard, Illinois 60148 USA Phone: 1-630-629-1500. I think this one of the closest hotels that has Spa/whirlpool rooms. Regular rooms are $90 total, king rooms w/ spa are $190 total.
Also, I'll probably by bringing 4 people in my car so if anyone needs me to swing by and pick up a lonely e34, PM me.
I know Bimmer Nut Ed has a few that need drivers. How far is that from Chicago?

Its sad that fuel prices might be a factor in my decision. I'm thinking it could be close to $300 in total travel expenses... good thing I didnt tell G-ma that I might visit.
After my knee surgery I'll have to see how things go cause I wanted to do a lot of work on the car before hand.
Right now I'm about 40/60 on attending.

Is there any way to tell if I've registered? I tried, but was 'bumped' off the server late in the process and can't tell if it went through.
I see 3 Canadians, but not sure I'm included.

Thats what I was also wondering. Any good deals on local hotels? I would have to stay two nights, Friday and Saturday, cause it too long of a drive from Pittsburgh, PA.

I have GPS and Microsoft Streets and Trips 2006 on my laptop (the bitch tells you when to turn)...I don't plan on getting lost. Although, I haven't registered for the event yet because I'm not sure if I can afford it. I might be staying with my relatives in MI.

Wyndham Garden Hotel - Schaumburg (http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/ORDSB/main.wnt)
has an Internet special of $48 per night, you have to pre-pay and it can't be cancelled. Of course... I wouldn't.

Man I really want to go, but 11 hours of driving each way in two and a half days is a lot. What to do?!?
