i know this doesnt belong here but i already posted this in the 3 series forum but i want to get all the info and advise i can...

first of all before all the flaming starts i have checked the search button but my question is still not answered...i basically have a few questions that will help me chose the right car for me

the two cars in mind is the 2000 328ci and the 2001 330ci

1) what are the mechanical differences between the 328ci and the 330ci?

2) what are the cosmetic differences between the 328ci and 330ci?
ie--> interior/ exterior

3) are there any known major problems with either the 328ci or the 330ci?

4) any recalls with either model?

5) BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!!!

thanks a lot for all the help that you can give me...i really appriciate it!!!!!!!!:D

I guess it's essentially same car: 2.8+.2=3.0

I don't know if it's the same in the 3.0, but my dad has a 528i and the throttle is very "floaty" feeling, like when reving it up, the tach still climbs about 500 or so RPM when you let go of the gas. It's nice for very soft smooth driving, but I found it annoying, yet still able to live with it.

Incantation - I would hardly call either of these cars slow!

Figures I have here for manual cars :

328ci 0-60mph 6.8secs, max 150mph
330ci 0-60mph 6.3secs, max 155mph

The 2.8 is a nice engine, but the 3.0 is a fair bit better especially low down in the rev range. Having been in a 330ci and a Z4 3.0 I can say its a fantastic engine, lots of torque and revs really well... there is more difference than people here seem to think as its only 200cc more.

If you can afford it Id definately go for the 330i

price tells all, how about giving us the whole scenario!

My 330 is ok in the power department, it leaves me feeling slow compared to my 540 though.

I just wish my 330 was a 6 speed, instead of 5:(
