Im actually an E34 guy but picked up a clean E30 with broken T-belt for 200 bucks a few weeks ago. I had to replace many components n the head but got it all back together and running a week ago. The car has been running great but recently it refuses to start from cold. It will just spit/ sputter and die. It runs great when warm and cranks on the first try. Im replaced the NTC sensor and checked all connection, everything looks good. Any ideas on cold starting issues? Thanks in advance.

That must be some air leak in the intake system which later closes when things expand by the engine heat. Also check the distributor and the rotor once more for hair cracks.
I once had that on my old 2002. It took a very long time till it started, same as you describe it.
Finally it turned out to be the carb, I just retightened all the screws I could access from outside while engine was running. That was also only when engine was cold. Just a bit retightening did the trick.
