Hello,

I was wondering if some of you folks have any experience with these brands. Which would you prefer as a replacement bulb for the brighter white light with the greatest longevity. There are other styles, but not looking for ricer blue... I own a BMW.

Per pair:

1. Sylvania Silverstar($40.00):

2. PIAA 9000 Series Star White($65.00):

3. Hella HB4/9006 High Performance($40.00):

I have been noticing that on a dark highway I can't see jack. The other HID discussion reminded me of this, and I was wondering what you folks use to get the most out of the 55W low beams? I'd rather not do the retrofit 9005 to get brighter headlights if at all possible.

Thanks.

What's wrong with the 9005s? The only one of the three that I'd use is #3, and even then, it probably won't drop as much light as a plain jane 9005.

Aside from that, I'd be buying HIRs.

Well, I'm trying to keep this car stock for posterity. So one vote for the Hella OE option. Yes, I agree the HIR's are great.

I understand the idea of preservation, but the only thing that needs to be modified is the bulb. So 10 years down the road when you decide to dump the car in a museum, it's not a huge deal to find 9006es and install them. And if you buy a regular old 9005, it won't melt the bucket or anything.

best, whit

Excellent. Lifetime warranty can't be beat. Your right, the wattage isn't significantly different. No hazard to it. Besides posterity, I'm lazy. Thanks for the great info.

I recommend the 9012HIR bulbs. I have had them for a while and they are a huge improvement. A couple minutes with a dremel and they fit perfectly. Sylvania Silverstars are a huge waste of money. That is what I had before the 9012HIRs.

Only $35 with a nice bright white lite with lifetime warranty and they installed in like 30 sec.

Well, I just ordered the xtec bulbs. They seem to be in canada, but they say they take orders for a USA distributor. How long did it take you to get yours in Speeder?

Got mine from my local BMW mech in San Diego who stocks them. Highly recommended them too.

Cool. I guess I'll pray for an upside to NAFTA now. Shipping might hurt.

Well I paid 37.71 incl. tax so you're within a few bucks.
