I feel like I just entered the realm of a true Bimmer lover. My car is everything that I did not have but didn't really know I wanted. But after a month in the driver seat I sence the true pleasure of driving instead of just getting somewhere. I'm hooked for life, no more GM's in my future. I feel I was lucky when I found this car. I checked it out on CarMax and everything was as it should have been. It had less than 100K and the interior looked new. The service papers were in the glovebox that told the cars history. A little over 6k a year and serviced by BMW. But wondering about 14 year old car, there must be something. I went through it top to bottom and the only thing is a small loose cable connected to the floorboard under the right front seat. I also found a small clip that appears to connect to the cable. I was wondering where and how to replace that cable and clip and just what does it do. I figure it has something to do with the seat adjustment. I did notice that the front right seat is a little crooked. But the seat electric seat adjustments seems to work fine.

This is the seat belt shoulder height adjustment cable. They come off pretty regular I guess. Ended up bolting mine to the flange on the seat frame in this picture. (no guarantee the picture works - haven't quite figured it out yet.)

Put a left hand bracket in front of this:

When saw your picture I went back out and took a couple of my own pics. I noticed that the cable was connected to a plastic piece that also was not screwed down but floating around. Is this right? The plastic piece is seems to be connected to another cable or wire. Fill me in on this shoulder harness adjustment thing.

SWEET! i just bought mine myself and i love it, consider yourself very lucky though, I took mine to the mechanic last week and found out I needed to do about $2000 worth of work to the car just to get it in proper driving condition. It looked great but it was a nightmare. Luckily the guy I bought it from is a friend and a good guy and he accepted most of the responsibility and took the brunt of the charges. Still waiting for it to come back from the mechanic though :(
