I heard many good things about EAT chip. I know it does wonders on 535 but how about 525? Does anyone from this board have EAT chip in 1995 525i? What type of HP gain and realistic power do I expect?

about a month and 1/2 ago and I'm very happy. My '95 525 immediately ran smoother (didnt think it possible) and there is most definately a power gain. Most noticably in the lower rpm range, where I'm sure you would agree our 525's lack some oompf. The upper rpm range is also slightly better. I've yet to have her testes (hp etc.) but you can feel it, which IMO is what were after. Good luck!

like toeks said.

Most of the benefits are in the low rpm ranges.

That dead spot around 2000-3000/4000 rpm is gone...it pulls straight through the rpms with the chip.

Is it a plug and play chip. Or is there a lot of configering to do?

Dam, that's pretty cool. And it works on 89 - 90 model 525i's?

you need the chip for your specific year.

results may vary.

Oh right, cool.

Well now I have fixed the power issue. Going to do a service and get the body work in shape and everything else. Then I'll think about it.

Thanks. :)

Had it at least a year. Best upgrade i ever did on my car. Gas mileage is about same or better. as everyone says, it pulls better at low rpms and car just feels easier to drive. Just do it.

My car has now got 300000km+ on and for $199 the gain is really worth it. Best upgrade for me so far as well. Just liase with Mark about your specific year and model and take it from there. I was in the same boat as you, needed to do so many things to the car from detailing to service etc. After buying the chip I've now shifted my focus to more "cosmetic" problems as the chip makes a big enough difference. Buy the chip, it'll take your mind off the more expensive engine conversions for a while...

Wow, nice. I think I'm going to do the EAT chip and Dinan Tranny chip when I get my tax return. That will pip up the old e34.

Thanks guys for the info... I think I'll make the purchase. I'll let you guys know if I feel the performance gain or not.
