I have found this motor and cheap (M20B27) its block/head is stamped 1990.

Looks like my head is cracked, plug #2 is always wet with liquid like coolant, even after a headgasket replacement with new bolts set. Initially car was over heating and wetting same plug area.

NB:In the country where I live we luck equipment to do all the complicated tests.

Until headgasket replacement, she used to run with aux fan fultime. After replacement of HG she nolonger overheats, only a needle below 12oclock. The plug issues has persisted though and more apparent in 500-1200 rev range.

It sounds like normal after the 1500 rev. range, though I have a feeling its running on 5 cylinders only.

Parts replaced so far.
DME (swapped with a friends)
AFM
ICV
Ignition Leads
Distributor cap/Rotor
Head Gasket/New Bolts
Plugs
Airfilter
Fuel Filter
Fuel Pump
Water Pump
Fan Clutch
Throttle valve switch.
etc.

What do you think people.

M20/B27 head will not work on your M20/B25 525i. The only exception is if it's from an '88 528e or 325e, in that case it will have "2.5" or "2.5/2.7" stamped on the side of the head- then you can use it.

I can't really address your problem without it being just a shot in the dark. You don't really need alot of specialized equipment to diagnose.

Not sure if this help.

OH, BTW- you need to change your AVATAR, or mark every one of your posts NWS, please....

Bret.
