Came across this recently:

Really an amazing find. And with a ZF trans, nonetheless! I thought ZF showed up around the '60s, not a pre-war entity.

Even has 3.5 l of displacement. Gotta love the I6, nothing like it.

Wow, it'd be interesting to measure her up and see how much she has in common with later M30s.

Evidently they hadn't begun giving engines M-numbers/classifications in 1939. For sure the car that had that was already showing signs of mechanical excellence, it looks as smart as a 1970 GM/FoMoCo engine, more so even. Wow. Thanks Whit, what a read.
