Hi guys,

Wondering where I can get a replacement battery (other than from dealer). Any part numbers, model recommendations etc would be very helpful.

I've heard about the venting issue, is this really a huge problem? The NAPA battery that came with the car (replaced by 1st owner) doesn't appear to be vented.

Thanks much,
Rod

Rod,

there are all sorts of places but don't get a Canadian Tire battery, they are junk.

You should get a quote from Motorcade for a battery.

See the site for locations.

Or try Graf Auto near Dufferin and Lawrence, 416-789-3423, tell Rudy I sent you.

Hi

Thanks for the info Mark.

I was able to get a warranty return battery from the local Interstate distributor in Toronto. The returns can be for any reason from "didn't fit" to "blemish" etc, etc. They are verified as operating correctly before being re-sold.

I know this isn't "ideal" but it does come with a 6 month warranty, and it is the exact spec for the E34, has 850 cca, and is vented. Came with a vent kit as well. The price was worth the risk...

Total cost: $40 Canadian taxes inc.

This is significantly less than the $145 - $160 +tax I was quoted by various parts suppliers. (admittedly, they are selling 1st time products).

I've attached both the Canadian and US link for those that might be interested.
