My 535 rolling at speed through turn 5B during this weekend's track day. The spring and swaybar setup is working nicely, eh? Car's nicely gathered up in this tight chicane.

Cheers!

There was a track day Sat? Who put it on?

Nice picture! That's a pretty ballsy place for someone to stand on that track. :D

Nice sunny day, exceptionally clean car, freshly painted curbing, and you nailed the driving line. Doesn't get much better than that.

(I've got to wait another month before my first track time of the season -- thanks for rubbing it in :( )

Craig - you're in Renton area right?

Pacific Raceways in kent, by the local CCA group. I work as a volunteer instructor for the Puget Sound chapter.

Want to come down and check it out? I can get you a track ride if you'd like. If you want to drive, I have suggestions on how to get started as well. We need more 5-er's there.

BTW, the photographer was in the turn station with a telephoto lens.

ah Drew...nothing like the experienced eye of fellow track dog!

Hang in there till you can get out - it really was fabulous to be out this early in the year with such awesome weather.

For one reason or another, I've never gotten a good picture of my own car at the track.

Hope you don't mind if I Photoshop a wide grille, NJ plates & a D-pillar onto your pic & claim it for my own ;)

Been there done that (but in my since-sold Mustang). Attached is a picture of me trying to avoid someone in a Metro in T1. :D

I meant which club was out there on Saturday (though I guessed it was the BMW club). I just signed up with the BMWCCA a couple weeks ago and was hoping to make it to one of their track days this year. However, I've heard they require you to take a Novice class first, no matter how much experience you have, correct?

I've done probably 10 OT events at PR (though none with my BMW) so was hoping to not have to take that class.

Hey Craig, yes - it was the BMW club. I have the guy you can talk to re not doing the novice class. Drop me an email at jsnord@hotmail.com and I'll give you his name. Not sure what the answer will be...

That said, the novice skills days are a blast and would recommend doing it just for the hell of it. Skid pad, braking, handling oval, all that good and fun stuff.

Pretty funny pic .... metro. Wow. :) Who were you out with that day? IRDC? Pro-formance? Alfa?

I hear you how hard it is to get a quality pic. It's really informative to see how the car loads up, etc. The club had 3 quality volunteer photogs working and they got boatloads of good pics. Free pics! WOW!

Photoshop away...just send me one with all the 'speed effects' before you transform it into Frankenwagen!

That was the Alfa club, last June. The same day the Enzo showed up. :D

I may reconsider the Novice day if you get to do all that other cool stuff since it will be my first outing in the BMW. I just don't want to be limited to driving on the track in a train of cars at 60mph all day. :)

Hey Bruno - where's that action pic of your rig? That was cool one too! Better than this if I recall...

oh yeah..heard about the Enzo day. Purdy cool! I'll hit Bremerton with Alfa, have yet to hit a PR day with them.

I think Alfa's running their skills day this Friday at Bremerton if you wanna get out. They almost always have room. Not sure if it transfers to BMW club or not...
