Hi all,

I am planing to join CCA. They have some referral program. see 2005-06 BMW CCA Membership Drive in http://bmwcca.org/MembershipDrive?CFID=586738&CFTOKEN=24656748

Send me your membership number so I could get you some goodies.

Also chime in usefulness (or lack of it, if applicable) of a CCA membership.

Thanks

The monthly magazine is worth the fee alone. On top of it, you get 15% off list prices at the dealerships.......SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! :D

New OE windshield for E34 = $486 list
New OE windshield for E34 = $312.80 CCA

schwing!

you're right....where has the love gone.....I'm sorry diamond777. There was no math done in my post. The general parts discount is 15%. I was also citing an instance where the discount is even GREATER. It's ALL my fault. I'm the idiot for not being more clear......I was just trying to help a new guy make a decision to join BMWCCA without having my math skills drawn in to question....

I love everyone the same...no matter how stupid they are, no matter how little they listen to sound advice given here, no matter how little they care about how they come off to others in their grammar and spelling, no matter how little respect they give to the people who know these things better than they.

I've been on the soapbox too long.....

I promise, I'll step down now.....I can recognize my own problems. In fact, I'll use a method I learned in Alcoholics Anonymous......I'm quitting cold turkey. It's the only way.....

I was hardly singling anyone out in particular. Agreed, I wouldn't have posted what I did directly after diamond777 reply, so you could figure that I was singling you out. In fact, I was just picturing the other fellow coming back, getting all unwound, and this breaking out in to an e-fistfight. I don't think you should interpret this in the way you are doing, it's easy to hurt feelings online because there's no personal contact and ppl are simply more likely to be jerks to someone they will never come face to face with, and again, this is just a general comment, not dealing with anyone in particular.

Someone put on some Barry White quick!

Evan give yourself a break, step back...if damon777 is your brother I appologise but if not step back and read what was posted.

Dimon777 in my book has been an ass**** since he joined this forum, I go out of my way not to reply to his meaningless asshat questions. Id delete him so i couldnt see his posts but it really amuses me how he lashes out. Look back on hos posts as you cant delete them anymore. He lashed at me when he deleted everything he posted for a couple weeks, then he lashed out at mr EAT himself for a mailing reason and he recieved a chip a day later... he is a COMPLETE ass and his posts should ALL be moved into the oblivion.

If I ever meet this dude he better be well armed cause I will cut his short fuse off and stuff it down his throat.

After that everyone is invited to the closest bar or pub, all drinks an me.

CCA is worth joining. I'm a member, but only because I "have" to be. Membership turnover is high because yearly tickets get given away with new cars like free candy, and most people who buy or lease new bimmers aren't enthusiasts. Roundell is pretty good, contributors in it are accessable, and it's like another extension of the whole BMW world, where "these guys [ed: really meaning, anybody who knows anything about these cars] all know each other," as was once said to me.

Blitzkrieg Bob

I could get the CCA prices with the ol' Jedi mindtrick, which came out to about 10 to 15% depending on what you bought.

I call my friend and I pick up parts for what comes out to almost 60% off.

A $21.00 listed hose only comes out to $8.00.

NO ONE GIVE ANYONE A BREAK. Seriously, who gives a ****. I didn't even read the entire thread but the very fact that a newb comes in and tells scott (a tax accountant at that) that is math is wrong is so retarded. It's like the guy telling me that if I went to a 3.73 diff from a 3.23 my car would squat less.... wtf is wrong with the world?

So, when will the powers that be start a private forum so we don't have to tiptoe through the tulips with this malarkey?

I thought Scott is a tax attorney? Either way, I agree. Things are getting messed up around here.

I just joined for 3 years. I'm member number 365134. 2/1994 530i V8 with 81K miles. I should have joined when I first got this car. I would have saved about 500 dollars in maintenance/repair fees.

Yes, the membership is very much worth it. The shops that take the membership discounts typically do outstanding work. Alas, I joined late, but better late than never. Mea Culpa.

mob mentality... wait.. maybe mentality is too strong a word.

ThoreauHD

Perhaps, but once you've walked out of a dealership, the payment of your left testicle and right arm gives one appreciation for the discounts with already cheap independent service shops.

I'm still limping from my last encounter. Nothing like a 5K bill right after breakfast.
