Trying to change out my fuel pressure regulator on a '95 540i and am stumped on removing the locking ring. From the challenging mounting position I need some suggestions to make this easy. Thanks, Bill

Why are you changing pressure regulator?

Why are you changing pressure regulator?
Preventive maintenance. At 115K just replaced the in tank fuel pump, filters and all hoses and wanted to matched that system with all new parts.

Not hard, just use the snap-ring pliers to the ring off, then pull the regulator out. It's probably not necessary, although I did mine along with a lot of other stuff at 100k. Be sure to lube the new o-rings with a little vaseline (very lightly coat them) and then slide things together. This is a trick from my indy and it made things really easy.

I think you said you were replacing the fuel lines too, if not, they recommended that as well. Be sure to get the real BMW stuff as it is reported to last much longer.
