2001 M3 Maintenance

so i have been looking at this car for a while and its basically the same price as the M5 for some weird reason (checked Ebay). Was interested in the M5 for a while but its just too much car for a one guy.

anyways i was wondering how hard or lets say expensive it is to maintain the M3 (2001) is it really worth the money or just get a 330ci and put a supercharger in it???

I guess you're looking at the 321 bhp version of the E36 M3. I don't know how much hp these M3's have in the States and howmany the 330 has over there, here the 330i have 231 hp. If it's performance you're looking for, supercharging the 330 will give you a very fast car, maybe even faster than the 321 M3 version, but it will not handle as good as the M3. You will need to splash out alot of cash to make it handle as good as the M3 and even after splashing it all out, you still won't have a BMW M model, just a "common" 330i.

If you want a four door E46 with M3 performance, go with the 330 and supercharge it. Otherwise you're better off to just go with the M3.
