Howzit all,

Follwing my previous thread about locking myself out of the car. I scratched and chipped the edges of the outside pillars on my 525i. :(:(

Are these replacable and how easy to replace them?

Thanks guys!

What would that look like a on white BMW 525i? Anyone else got a their opinion on these?

And do they clip over the originals or what?

Thanks guys! :)

Yes, it would look fine... BUT! I tried a set before and it started to shrink and subsequently peel away from the top of the pillar. Of course this would depend on your climate. I then used a better adhesive and using a heat gun, 'massaged' it back into place.

it would look fine, but make sure you get the pillars that are complete c/f, there are a few sets with random circles cut out at the bottom... looks like poop.

those random circles are designed to be filled with 'M" stripes ..

god.. not at all.. you basically have one chance to get em stuck on right, and if you stick em on and are off by even a bit you are screwed. and once those babies are on.. they are never coming off

they don't stick out much no.. maybe 1'8th inch

Most is fake and serves no real purpose except questionable style? IMO, I think it looks cheap (or out of place) no matter where used. The M6 uses it for a roof for ligher weight. The Corvette z06 uses painted carbon fiber fenders for the same reason. On our cars, it just looks like a wanabe. Again IMO.

Just my personal opinion.

the point was his pillars are scratched beyond repair and it's cheaper to go with some covers than to purchase/install original bits or even fix/fill/paint over the old ones. considering his car is bone stock it might look a little out of place, but it will still be better than scratched b-pillars
