What do you think of these? www.ebay.com (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/X7-BMW-Carbon-emblem-Hood-wheel-steering-E34-E60-E61-M5_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33643QQitemZ80508785 63QQrdZ1) My emblems are shot, and I think theyd go well with the diamond black of my car.

Thats out of my budget. My steering is going, need to switch to synthetic oil (a lot of buil up in the engine), and need new paint. I don't think it was ever stored in a garage. Damn rust. Thanks for the honest opinion m8.

Sorry, not taking the piss. Just wanted to see a picture of your car, then I can photoshop the badge onto the hood and see what it'll look like. But not a problem.

Sorry - misunderstanding. Bit on edge after all the flaming I've seen on some other forums. Will try and get one up soon, but the weather is crap here in Auckland. Whenever I try to go out, it starts to rain (made it interesting soldering the cable tree in the boot while out in the driveway though).

Cool, no probs.

I must say that this forum is a lot more civilised in comparison to quite a few others like it. I guess having an E34 turns one into a gentleman (be it a rather fast one).

Most of us are just relaxed, easy going people I guess. ;)

this forum is way cooler than the rest... we have eliminated the real a-holes (actually, they removed themselves voluntarily!)
so now it really is a quality environment to gain knowledge and share a laugh!
check out the "WAY OT" forum for the fun stuff!

If you have to ask, then it typically is.... :D

I personally think it's so subtle that it doesn't matter. Unless of course, you roll w/ carbon fiber or some really bright color, then it looks stupid to me.

yeah personally i wouldn't bother, thats not saying they may not look good, just that a bmw roundel has blue on it for a reason..... because the sky is blue not carbon fibre. whilst that may sound stupid BMW used to make Aero Engines back in the days it represents a turning propeller.
but in the end dude its your car, if you think deep down its not ricey then do it. hell it doesn't really matter what other people think. its your money in the end

ps speaking of rice altezzas on e36s are GAY, i should be made a crime worldwide to fit them to be enforced by interpol.

I want to personalise my 525i without ruining it. And these would match the dark diamond black well. Once it's back to its former lustre. And I can't do anything technical to it as it would cause my insurance to sky rocket.

so long as you keep clear of altezzas we won't have to break down your door at 2 am, arrest you and interrogate you using electrocution. oh yeah i forgot that last part we'll take you to egypt so it'll all be above board and legal ;)

LOL no worries. If anything I might switch to clear indicators (NOT the volvo ones, nor LED), as I feel the contrast with the dark colour makes for a sporty yet decent visual.

Something like these: www.ebay.com (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-95-BMW-5-Series-E34-4D-Red-Clear-Tail-Light-525i-530_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33716QQitemZ8050426 724QQrdZ1)

depends on the cab color. I have a red car and all the orange lights are painted red. If I was replacing mine, I might go with it.

That's a little over the top. May look good on a black M5 though.

Actually, sKilled, I think they don't look bad at all. My originals are going for crap and I am consiering a set of these. Since I am doing a shadowline treatment, am putting clears on the front (already have clear rears), and doing the clear reflector mod (with amber and red backlighting for legal look at night), I think the monochrome look would look good...especially if your car is Diamantschwartz!

Cheers,
Duey

I treated mine with plastic treatment (you know that stuff you use to reinstill the deep colour in the plastic parts) and they come up nice as. I just need to take out the dings from the amateur asswipes who broke into my car and then realised that they were too dumb to bypass the imobiliser.

yeah there is a world of difference between altezzas and clear indicators in terms of rice factor.... i thought about it before but fortunately the orange indicators don't really stand out too much with a calypso car so i am just going to leave them off. but with black or white i think clears look more natural, they don't tend to stand out like dog's balls at a cat's party like the orange indicators do when you have a white or black car

ditto on the calypso and clear combo... not cool... better off stock.
