GM 4-Speed Autotranny Life Span

Hi all
How long do this tranny last with normal wear and tear/regular ATF change (every 30K km)? My car is 6 months past the 10-year mark with 180K km on the clock. Coming home from work today (about 15-20 spirited driving) I felt the tranny flare/slip a bit with slight jerks at low speeds which weren't there a couple of days ago. Also could intermittent loss of power together with a muffled whine occur because of impending tranny problems? The tranny is due for a flush and am wondering if this might solve the problem.

luck of the draw, only change the filter and fluid that comes out every 30k miles. if your having problems, get them addressed right away of\r a failure is imminent.

Looks like it will get worse...perhaps I should change the fluid and filter like you said and see what happens?
